Pau Sendra is an aeronautical engineer by Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya of Barcelona. Before he started this entrepreneurial adventure, he worked at ITAérea, a school for managers in the airport transportation industry, as a Project Manager. In his free time, he likes to fly planes, his passion, and during work hours he flies a team of more than 30 people who work at Waynabox.
His passion for the aviation industry complements itself with a strong entrepreneurial character which he manifested during his college years. During these years, he managed the organization of the AirSim Meeting, the first event in Spain dedicated to simulating and diffusing the aeronautical culture. After 2 successful editions, he left the project to get his master’s degree MGDA – Aeronautical Business Management at ITÁerea Business School. Later on, he moved to Murcia, to become a Project Manager at ITÁrea.
The idea of revolutionizing the traditional way of traveling had been on his mind. It’s during and interrail in Europe with some friends -and future partners- Ferran Blanché and Dani Jiménez that they came up with the original idea of Waynabox: an easy, fast, spontaneous and fun way of traveling. After presenting this project to the incubator Lanzadera, they were selected to participate in the second edition of their accelerator program for tech startups in 2014. This was key in the development of Waynabox’s product and in the improvement of Pau’s business and management abilities. The official launch of Waynabox was in March 2015 making this the kick off date of a business adventure that is going to reinforce its internationalization in 2017.
